Our new courtyard masterpiece

Following on from our previous blog our latest courtyard masterpiece, by acclaimed artist Jo Peel, has been completed and is now on full public display.

This latest mural continues Jo’s recent theme of abandoned East London construction sites, and for those of you who aren’t already aware of Jo’s work, her culturally and architecturally relevant urban stylings are masterfully demonstrated here with Jo proving her ability for absorbing the local vernacular in a well observed and uniquely executed style.

You can watch Jo as she skilfully conducts the canvas, bringing out the sunshine as she works in this stunning time lapse video  here

For more of Jo's work see her website www.jopeel.com

The Changing Face of the High Street

The High Street - it’s THE topic on everybody’s lips at the moment with a huge amount of press and divided opinion.

With the completion of the Mary Portas Report and the government beginning to introduce new legislation, Child Graddon Lewis felt it was an opportune time to ‘get our hands dirty’ and weigh in on the debate.

In association with Buro Four and the Buro Four Big Relay, Child Graddon Lewis decided to host a Round Table Discussion into The Changing Face of the High Street. We invited speakers from across the property industry to debate the challenges, the solutions and discuss whether town centres abroad are doing it better than we are.

Some interesting threads of discussion came about and, although happy to talk about the issues, our panel decided that actions speak louder than words and a follow up meeting has been arranged in South London in June to speak with a Town Centre Manager at the Local Authority about a particular High Street facing these very challenges.
